Our Gurudeva Swami Chinmayananda worked tirelessly propagating the message of the Bhagavad Gita. Pujya Gurudeva said that the Bhagavad Gita is the “Handbook for everyday living”. In order to bring this philosophy into the life, the Bhagavad Gita Chanting competition was created, to motivate children and adults to learn to chant the Gita and ultimately bring this philosophy into their lives.
Pujya Guruji, Swami Tejomayananda explains the vision behind “Chant – Study – Know – Live”. Chanting introduces one, to such a noble text. This kindles the curiosity to know more about the meaning and the content. This in turn, leads to study. The knowledge gained thereby is translated into actions and thus becomes a way of life.
From the recitation of the Bhagavad Gita arises the desire to know its meaning. Thence arises the Knowledge (of the Self). From this Knowledge arises fulfillment.
The study of the Gita is the key to opening the vast treasure of God’s love for us. It starts with chanting, then study, and over time, assimilating (embracing) that same love wholeheartedly and completely.
Gita Chanting allows one to begin this journey here and now, and opening themselves to the embrace of the infinite love.
