2. Bala Vihar Session Changes

The Welcome Desk has received many requests for Bala Vihar session changes.

Sunday, September 30 will be the last day for requesting session changes for this year.

For session change requests, please plan to come by 8:15 AM for the first session and 11:00 AM for the second session; go to the Welcome Desk and fill out the “Session change request from”.

A Welcome Desk volunteer will guide you with the process.

3. Telugu Classes

Please note that the Telugu classes for the second session will be merged with the first session class due to low enrolment in the second session.

4. Enrollment in Language, Slokathon, Bhajana & Orchestra classes

The Welcome Desk has received many requests for enrolment in Language classes.

Please note that Hindi Session I and Orchestra classes are FULL and we will not be able to accommodate any request for enrolment in these classes. We will keep your requests on the waiting list and will let you know as soon as we have any opening in these classes.

If you had placed a request for enrolment in Hindi (Session II), Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Bhajana and Slokathon classes, please go to the table set up in the Dining Area and talk to the volunteer.

Note: A child is eligible to enrol in these classes only if he/ she has been attending Bala Vihar for the last one year and is in Grade 1 or above.

5. Bala Vihar Open House – Sunday Oct. 7, 2012

Mark your calendars for Bala Vihar Open House. During the last half an hour of the satsanga parents will go to their children’s classrooms on Sunday Oct. 7, 2012.

This Open House is a perfect opportunity for all parents

to meet with their children’s teachers
to get to know the curriculum for their children for the current year
to get to know other children and their families in their children’s class

Please check the classroom locations for your child’s grade..

Note that class A consists of children having Last name starting with (A-O) and class B consists of children having Last name starting with (P-Z).

6. CMH Navaratri celebrations – Saturday Oct. 13, 2012

CMH will be celebrating one of its biggest and most fun filled festival of Navaratri Garaba on Saturday, October 13 evening, at the beautiful Berry Center on N. Barker-Cypress. To see the detailed flyer please click here.

Ticket Sales are in the dining area in-between two sessions and also at lunch time.

Children under 4 years are free and the ticket price for all other members is $ 10/- per person.

Members do have an opportunity to sponsor Amba Mata’s Arati on this auspicious occasion. The suggested sponsorship amount is $21/- and above. Ticket Sale Volunteers can assist you with this.

8. 3rd Annual CHYK West Retreat – November 22 – 25, 2012

We will be having our 3rd annual CHYK West retreat this Thanksgiving weekend from November 22-25, 2012. The theme of the camp is “The Fast Five: Speeding to Salvation,” based upon the text Sadhana Panchakam. The camp will be conducted by Acarya Vivekji from Chinmaya Mission Niagara Falls.

9. Ayurvedic Consultation at CMH

Vaidya Sunita Tarkunde conducts Ayurvedic Consultations for members of Chinmaya Mission Houston on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Tapovan room (the basement of our mandir). Each individual gets approximately 15 minutes for wellness consultations.
