1. CMH Summer Schedule – Sun Aug 03, 2014
Our summer schedule of 1 session resumes with Pujya Gurudeva’s Mahasamadhi Day Celebration on Sun. Aug. 03, 2014
We urge one and all to join us in celebrating Pujya Gurudeva’s Mahasamadhi Day on Sunday, August 3rd during normal Mission hours. We will have Gurudeva’s Pratima Puja and Paduka Puja followed by regular adult satsanga and Bala Vihar classes
Time: 10:50 AM – 12:30 PM
- All children PreK – Grade 11 and CHYKs should be in Smrti Hall for the first 40 minutes
- All members should be seated with family, as we will have Pratima Puja and Paduka Puja during the first 40 minutes in Smrti Hall
- After the Puja we will have our regular adult class and Bala Vihar classes
- Please come early and be seated by 10:45 AM
- Please bring a decorated plate with padukas and/or diya, flowers and rice for puja, Prarthana Piyusa, a match box and 2 ziplock bags, per family.

Bhajana, Slokathon, Orchestra and Language classes are not being conducted during the Summer Session.
Lunch program continues as usual, after the satsanga at 12:30 PM
2. Upakarma – Thread Changing Ceremony at Sivalaya – Sun. Aug. 10, 2014
Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya will conduct Upakarma (thread changing ceremony) on Sunday, August 10, 2014. Upakarma is an annual ritual during which individuals who have gone through the Upanayanam ritual and wear the sacred thread, get a new sacred thread and renew their commitment to the study of the Vedas. Devotees will be provided all the materials required to perform the puja including sacred thread. Interested individuals should register at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya or send an email to skethire@hotmail.com or sgs2680@gmail.com Puja
Time: 7:30 – 8:00 AM – Puja preparation and Seating
8:00 – 9:30 AM – Upakarma Puja
Contribution: $21/Individual, $31/Family and Daksina to the priest
3. Sri Krsna Janmastami – Sun. August 17, 2014
Sri Krsna Janmastami will be celebrated at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya on Sunday, August 17. We welcome one and all to come and receive the blessings of Lord Krsna on this auspicious day. After the Puja, please plan to stay back and meditate in the serene environment of our beautiful Saumyakasi Sivalaya.
The schedule is as follows:
8:00 – 9:30 PM – Krsna Janmastami Puja
9:30 – 10:00 PM – Prasada
10:00 – 11:30 PM – Meditation
11:30 – 11:45 PM – Bhajana
11:45 PM – Puja
12:00 AM – Arati

4. Swami Ramakrishnanandaji’s visit Samskrit Camp – Bhiksa opportunity
Thu. Aug. 28 – Tue. Sep. 02, 2014
Swami Ramakrishnananda will be in Houston for Samskrit camp from Thursday August 28 – Tuesday September 2.
Members will have opportunity to invite Swamiji for Bhiksa during his stay as follows:
Aug. 28 Dinner
Aug. 29 to Sep. 1 Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Sep. 2 Breakfast
