3. Kaupina Pancakam

You can download a copy of the delightful Kaupina Pancakam that we are now studying in class. Please print and bring a copy to class if you like to take notes.

4. Lock-In for KG to Grade 2 Bala Vihar – Friday February 15, 2013

The Student Council is holding its annual Lock-In for Kindergarten to Second grade. This is a social evening filled with games and entertainment for our children, and is a much awaited event.

From: Friday, February 15 7:00 PM

To: Saturday, February 16 8:00 AM

Tickets: $10 for children

A lock-in with so many small children needs a lot of supervision. We are therefore requesting interested adults to sign up at the ticket desk.

Only 50 Spots are remaining. Tickets will be available in the Dining Area. This Sunday is the last day to buy your tickets. If you have any questions please contact the CMH Student Council at cmhstudentcouncil@gmail.com

THINGS TO BRING: Make sure the child’s name is written clearly on all items.

SNACKS: Chips plain, Chips-Ahoy Cookies, Fruits (Strawberries and Grapes), Candy (M&Ms), Ice Cream (Neopolitan Vanilla)

DRINKS: Milk (Skim and Low-fat only), Orange Juice, Lemonade, Coke and Sprite (for Adult Volunteers and High School Volunteers only)

DINNER: Cheese Pizza and Vegi Pizza

BREAKFAST: Glazed and Chocolate Do-Nuts with Milk and Orange Juice.

5. Gita Chanting Competition – Saturday May 11, 2013

The Gita chanting competition will be held on May 11, on the occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 11 has been selected for this year’s competition.

Along with the regular competition for children, the adults are also invited to participate in Gita presentation. Details on Gita presentations for adults will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Gita chanting classes for children will be held every Sunday at Chinmaya Prabha from February 10 to April 28 as under:

GCC class for Session I: 7:45 AM – 8:30 AM

Group 1 – KG Classroom (Next to Uncle’s office)

Group 2 – Grade 2B classroom (In Sarasvati Nilayam)

Group 3 & 4 – Grade 2A classroom (In Sarasvati Nilayam)

GCC class for Session II: 10:30 – 11:15 AM

Group 1 – Grade 11 classrrom (N203 – Upstairs North Wing)

Group 2 – Grade 10 classroom (S203 – Upstairs South Wing)

Group 3 & 4 – Artroom (S204 – Upstairs South Wing)

6. Jnana Yajna by Guruji  – July 07–13, 2013

We are delighted to announce that Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji will be conducting a Jnana Yajna at Chinmaya Prabha, on Svetasvatara Upanisad. This text reveals the true nature of God and how to establish our essential oneness with Him.

Guruji’s captivating and endearing rendition during the last Jnana Yajna in Houston in 2011, had enthralled all attendees, and had left them wanting more.

There will be 3 discourses daily. We encourage all members to plan ahead so they can take vacation during this time and attend all 3 discourses to get the most out of this divine text.

Please note that this is a public event. Share the Jnana Yajna details with all your friends and relatives so maximum people can enrich themselves with this rare opportunity.

7. Susamskritam: A Dance Drama on Sanskrit – Sunday, March 03, 2013

Susamskritam, the much-anticipated Chinmaya Mission Dallas/Ft. Worth original music and dance production about the origin, evolution & influence of Sanskrit, the mother of all languages, will be held

When: Sunday, March 3rd, at 3:00 PM

Where: Hill Performance Hall of the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas.

10. Ayurvedic Consultation at CMH

Vaidya Sunita Tarkunde conducts Ayurvedic Consultations for members of Chinmaya Mission Houston on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Tapovan room (the basement of our mandir). Each individual gets approximately 15 minutes for wellness consultations.

There is no fee for these consultations, but donations are welcome. Checks should be made payable to “CMH.”
