6. Service Project for Youth at CORD, Sidhbari – July 8 – Aug 3, 2012

Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD) is pleased to announce a unique service project for our youth (Grades 10 thru 12 & CHYKs). It is an opportunity for Chinmaya Mission youth to travel to India and volunteer their time serving the under-served. The project is a comprehensive integrated rural development and women’s empowerment program, initiated with the grace of Pujya Gurudeva Swami Chinmayananda in 1985.

This is a wonderful practical exercise to compliment all the years of Bala Vihar learning. Similar service project visits in the past, have left deep impressions on the participants. This is also a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours for college applications.

When: Jul 08 thru Aug 03, 2012

Where: CORD Sidhbari, located in the small village of Sidhbari in the Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India

Admittance to this Service Project is on a first come, first served basis. Interested youth and parents are requested to sign up at the Welcome Desk this Sunday.

The application deadline is February 28 2012. To learn more about this project and have any questions answered please plan to attend a brief meeting in the Smrti Hall at 10:30 AM on Sunday, February 12.
