CMH Summer Schedule

During months of June, July and August, we will have Summers Schedule for Sunday satsangas as follows:
          9:00 AM – 10:15 AM        Satsanga for teachers
        10:15 AM – 10:35 AM        Teachers’ meeting
        10:50 AM – 12:30 PM        Adult Satsanga/ Bala Vihar classes

Bhajana, Slokathon, Orchestra and Language classes will not be conducted during Summer session.

CPR Training Certificates

CPR Training Certificates are in and will be available next to the book store after Satsanga.

Help needed … community service project

As we announced in the class, Chinmaya Mission Houston has taken lead to adopt twenty Bhutani families in effort to help them settle in Houston. Many families have already signed up but we need many more to come forward and help in this project. The sign up sheets are at the Welcome Desk in the Amrit Balamandira Foyer.

Gurudeva’s Mahasamadhi Day –  Monday, Aug 3, 2009

We will have Gurudeva’s Pratima puja on Monday August 3 on the occasion of Pujya Gurudeva Swami Chinmayanandaji’s Mahasamadhi Day. Mark your calendar and plan to attend this Puja at Chinmaya Smrti. For more details, please visit our website at www.chinmayahouston.org.

Thread Changing Ceremony – Wednesday, Aug 5, 2009

Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya will organize Upakarma (Thread changing) ceremony on August 5th, 2009. Upakarma is an annual ritual during which Brahmins get a new sacred thread and renew their commitment to the study of the Vedas. 
The ceremony will be lead by Sri Ganesaji and will last for one and a half hours. Devotees will be provided all the materials required to perform the puja including sacred thread. Interested individuals should register at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya.

Puja time:  

        6:30 – 8:00 AM   (please be seated inside Sivalaya by 6:15 AM)

What to bring for the puja:

        Devotees will be provided all the required puja material.
        Contribution: $31/Individual + Daksina to the priest.
