SEWA Intl. Internship Opportunities
Sewa International Houston Chapter started the ASPIRE summer internships to offer a unique opportunity for young adults to engage with their community and create a fun learning environment for ASPIRE students. Interns help the learning centers by leading activities, games, and lessons and performing administrative tasks at Sewa International Houston Chapter.
ASPIRE internships are a particularly good choice for those who enjoy spending time with children ages 6-12, are interested in helping children of refugee and immigrant families adapt to their new life in Houston, and also to help them improve their English in a meaningful way! These internships are unpaid, but they can be completed for volunteer credit in High School or College. Interns also receive a certificate recognizing their service.
There are two internship offerings.
GIH internship, which is Get Interested Houston, is offered to college students or students above 18. Get Inspired Houston (GIH) is an annual summer internship program offered to young adults and college/university students to assist the welfare of immigrant and refugee communities. This internship is a full-time commitment composed of direct community service, content creation, event planning, educational tutoring, attending lectures, and public outreach.
The LEAD internship is offered to High School students for sophomores and above.
