2. Pujya Gurudev’s Birth Centeneary Celebration – Wheel of Values

On the occasion of Pujya Gurudev’s birthday, we started one of the many activities planned for Pujya Gurudev’s Birth Centenary Celebration. The first activity is the “Wheel of Values”

Under this activity we are going to follow “one value for the month”. With the Wheel of Values, we will pick one value every month for each session.

The values picked on May 12, 2012 are:

‘Right’ for session I and ‘Unity’ for session II

All members including Bala Vihar children will research/reflect and try to enhance their respective “Value” throughout the month.

The tool to act as a reminder of this Value inculcation game will be the special Cords.

These Cords are available for purchase in the Book Store as well as in the Dining Area. We encourage all the mission families to participate in this project and recommend one cord per member for every family.

Let us all whole heartedly participate in this game and grow the best ever fortune – OUR VALUES.

3. Bala Vihar Play at Stafford Centre – Saturday July 6, 2013

Our Bala Vihar children, teachers and the production crew are working tirelessly to put together this spectacular play for us. It will be a treat for the heart, mind and soul, by our very own children. We encourage one and all to watch this play.

The play will be held on July 6, 2013 at the Stafford Center. The tickets will be available in the Dining Area, starting this Sunday. We encourage you to buy your tickets ASAP, to avoid the last minute rush.

4. Shrine for Pujya Gurudev in the Tapovan Room

Tapovan Room in the basement of our temple is turned into a meditation room, with Pujya Gurudev’s life size picture. The quietude and peace experienced by many was the inspiration behind this dedicated Shrine for Pujya Gurudev in the Tapovan Room.

We encourage members to visit this room for 2-5 minutes every Sunday, for Darsana and Meditation and be blessed by the divinity in this room. While in the room, we must maintain complete silence and allow the mantra “Om Sri Chinmaya Sadgurave Namah” to resonate through our minds.

5. Jnana Yajna by Guruji – July 07, 2013 – July 13, 2013

We are delighted to announce that Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji will be conducting a Jnana Yajna at Chinmaya Prabha, on Svetasvatara Upanisad. This text mainly reveals the true nature of God and how to establish our essential oneness with Him.

Guruji’s captivating and endearing rendition during the last Jnana Yajna in Houston in 2011, had enthralled all attendees, and had left them wanting more.

There will be 3 discourses daily. We encourage all members to plan ahead so they can take vacation during this time and attend all 3 discourses to get the most out of this divine text.

Please note that this is a public event. Share the Jnana Yajna details with all your friends and relatives so maximum people can enrich themselves with this rare opportunity.

Opportunity to Offer Bhiksa to Guruji during Jnana Yajna

During the Jnana Yajna from July 07 – July 13, members will have an opportunity to offer bhiksa to Guruji. There will be breakfast, lunch and dinner bhiksas. Interested members are requested to sign up at the welcome desk. The Bhiksa coordinator will contact you with further details.
