3. CMH Library Open House –  Sun. Nov. 04, 2012

There will be an open house in the CMH Library, located on the second floor, on Sunday, November 04 after both sessions.

Our CMH library has a fascinating collection of books, CDs and DVDs on religion, art and culture, for all age groups. We have a complete set of “Amar Chitra Katha, stories of Indian mythology and history, in comic form for small children. There is a very good collection of books for teenagers and adults as well.

Please make use of the library. You can use the library while the children are attending the special classes. Please visit and check-out the materials of your choice. The volunteers will be there to help you out.

4. CMH Annual Dipavali Puja – Sun. Nov. 11, 2012

All members are invited to our Annual Dipavali Puja which includes Ganesa Puja, Sri Laksmi Puja and Sri Visnusahasranama Puja. As per CMH tradition the Puja will be held in two sessions, on Sunday Nov. 11.

5. Dipavali Puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya – Tuesday Nov. 13, 2012

Sri Astalaksmi Puja will be performed at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya on the auspicious occasion of Dipavali on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 7:00 PM. Please participate in the puja with family and friends and receive Mother Laksmi’s blessings.

Special Puja seva/sponsorship: $21 per family

6. Gurudaksina Pledge

In keeping with our traditional Guru Sisya Parampara, it is that time of the year when we express our gratitude for Pujya Gurudeva’s teachings with our humble offerings in the form of our annual Gurudaksina.

We urge all members to open their hearts and pockets, and provide these essential funds to enable the flow of this pious river of spiritual knowledge in and through CMH.

The Gurudaksina letter and pledge forms have been emailed this week. If you have not received the email, please write to CMH contribution desk.

7. 3rd Annual CHYK West Retreat – November 22–25, 2012

We will be having our 3rd annual CHYK West retreat this Thanksgiving weekend from November 22 to 25, 2012. The theme of the camp is “The Fast Five: Speeding to Salvation,” based upon the text Sadhana Panchakam. The camp will be conducted by Acarya Vivekji from Chinmaya Mission Niagara Falls.

9. Ayurvedic Consultation at CMH

Vaidya Sunita Tarkunde conducts Ayurvedic Consultations for members of Chinmaya Mission Houston on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Tapovan room (the basement of our mandir). Each individual gets approximately 15 minutes for wellness consultations.

There is no fee for these consultations, but donations are welcome. Checks should be made payable to “CMH.”
