2. CMH Landscaping Open House Sunday November 13, 2011
The beautiful landscaping in our premises is the result of tireless effort of dedicated volunteers, who have lovingly nurtured the CMH gardens for all to enjoy.
To share this love of gardening our landscaping volunteers are pleased to announce a Landscaping Open House this Sunday. Volunteers have gone an extra mile and have created identification tags, providing the name, picture and a brief description of each plant. All members are invited to participate in this Open House.
There will be a 30 minute guided tour to introduce our members to the more than 100 types of plants that are blooming in our premises, and to answer any questions. Please assemble in the porch outside Balamandir main entrance in front of the Welcome Desk to join any one of the three tours this Sunday November 13, starting at

3. CHYKSgiving – A Thanksgiving Dinner for Youth – 7:00 PM Nov. 24, 2011
It is the start of another holiday season! In the autumn spirit, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK) Houston invites you to the 2nd annual CHYKS-giving.
CHYKS and JCHYKS (high school students) are invited to a relaxing evening with Acharya Vivekji, with great food and company – the more the merrier!
There will be a nominal cost of $10, and advance purchase and registration is required. If you are from out of town and require hotel accommodations for Thanksgiving night please send your request to chykhouston@gmail.com.

4. CHYK Camp in Houston – “The Game of Life” – November 25 to 27, 2011
We will be having our annual CHYK Retreat this Thanksgiving weekend from November 25th to 27th, 2011. The theme of the camp is “The Game of Life” conducted by Acarya Vivekji from Chinmaya Mission Niagara Falls. There will be activities such as discussions, a creative writing workshop, “Vedanta in movies and music” workshop, and much more!
Young Professionals, college students, and Chinmaya Bala Vihar High School Seniors are invited to attend the retreat. The current cost of the retreat is the standard rate of $135. However, this price is only good until Sunday, November 13th, 2011 after which the cost will go up. Please note that camp memorabilia is limited to the first 70 registrants. So Hurry!
