2.  Mahamrtyunjaya homa at Chinmaya Smrti                    Sunday,  Feb. 26, 2017

On the occasion of Mahasivaratri, we will have Mahamrtyunjaya Homa at Chinmaya Smrti on Sunday February 26 in two sessions – 8:35 am and 11:20 am.
Mahamrtyunjaya homa is performed for good health and physical as well as spiritual well-being of family members. This event is open to public.

Gita Chanting Competition for Bala Vihar children               May 6, 2017

On the occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday, every year we conduct Gita Chanting Competition. This year’s Gita Chanting Competition will be held on May 06.  Bhagavad Gita Chapter 14 has been selected for this year’s competition.

Classes for Balavihara children are being held every Sunday at Chinmaya Prabha from February 5th to April 30th.

5.   Slokathon classes for February – April, 2017

Please note that Slokathon classes will not be held during the months of February, March and April. Slokathon children would attend Gita Chanting classes instead.
Classes will resume on first Sunday of May, 2017

Announcing CORD USA Summer Service Visits 2017 – applications open

Date: July 2nd – 15th 2017
Registration fee – $675.00 per person
Service visit 1:CORD-Sidhbari, Himachal Pradesh
Service Visit 2:CORD-Siruvani, Tamil Nadu


All of our service project visits have been very successful, considering the dramatic impact that it has had on the participants. This is also a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours for college applications.  These hours also qualify for Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) hours as of today.

When you are choosing the service visit center, you may choose one or both of the sites, but make sure about your availability before applying.
Once submitted, you will receive an email acknowledgement. Further information will be sent by email.
The Summer service visit is now open to Balavihar students grades 10-12.  Apply today!

This is a wonderful practical exercise to compliment all the years of Bala Vihar learning. Our service visits are student participatory visits, which means students are expected to actively participate the teleconferences as well as respond to emails.  Please download and read FAQ before applying so that you understand and agree with the expectations.
