Please note Bhajana classes alternate with the Slokathon/Orchestra classes every other Sunday.

2. Smrti and Bala Mandira doors to be locked at the start of each session

As announced before, we have started to lock the Smrti and Balamandira doors after the classes start in each session. A big ‘Thank you’ to all members for understanding and complying with this policy, and we encourage all to keep up the practice.

3. Contribution Statements – 2015

Contribution statements for the period January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 have been emailed this week for your tax filing purposes. If you have not received your statement by Saturday, January 23, 2016, please write to CMHContributions@chinmayahouston.org or stop by the Contribution Desk on Sunday.

4. Gita Chanting Competition – Saturday May 07, 2016

This year’s Gita Chanting Competition will be held on May 07, on the occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 13 has been selected for this year’s competition.

Classes for Gita chanting will begin from February 7th

GCC class for Session I: 7:45 AM – 8:30 AM

GCC class for Session II: 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

We will have details about the competition rules, registration information, etc. on our website next Sunday and in the announcements next week.

5. Online sign-up for Gurudeva’s Paduka Puja

As you all know on the special occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birth centenary (2015-2016), to express our endless gratitude to the great Master, the families of Chinmaya Mission Houston are performing the Guru Paduka Puja every Sunday before the Adult Satsanga in both sessions.

It is a memorable opportunity for all members to offer their devoted regards for Pujya Gurudeva and for his spiritual mission. Please sign up to perform the Paduka Puja in this auspicious centenary year.

6. CMH Accepted for Corporate Matching Gift Programs

Chinmaya Mission Houston has been accepted into the matching gift programs at Chevron, JP Morgan Chase, Shell, Microsoft, Citgo, Apple and Phillips 66 (recent addition).

These employers match employee contributions made to a company approved non-profit organization. If you are an employee of one of these companies, please avail of this facility by contacting the appropriate department within your organization. Some employers like Chevron even match employee volunteer hours by making a financial contribution that they compute based on the number of volunteer hours an employee has put in.

7. Remember to use AMAZONSMILE – CMH receives .5% of member purchases, as donation

As announced, please note, that CMH has now been registered with the AmazonSmile program. This means that every time a CMH member buys through AmazonSmile, CMH receives .5% of our member purchases as donation from Amazon. For your convenience this link has now been provided on our CMH website.
