1. Annual Diwali Puja – Sun. Oct. 30, 2016
We will have our annual Dipavali Puja this Sunday in two session. Please note the timings for these pujas below – they are different than the regular session timings.
Session I 8:30 AM (plan to be seated by 8:15 AM)
Session II 10:30 AM (plan to be seated by 10:15 AM)
Please allow yourselves enough time to walk, park and be seated 15 minutes before time
Please remember to bring the following items for Puja:
- Coin/Lamp/Account Book in a decorated plate for Laksmi Puja
- Lamp in a decorated plate for Visnusahasranama Puja
- Yellow Rice and Flowers
- A third plate with a lamp for Arati
- Prarthana Piyusa
- Match Box, Plastic bags, Paper Napkins
- Gurudaksina Envelope

2. Invitations for Sata Sahasra Rudraksa Puja / Bhima Ratha Santi
Invitations for these two special events to be celebrated on Nov. 12 – 13 have been sent to all members of CMH with an RSVP link. We are looking forward to all the members joining in these functions.

3. Dipavali Puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya – Sunday October 30, 2016
Sri Astalaksmi Puja will be performed at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya on the auspicious occasion of Dipavali on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
All are invited to participate in the Puja with family and friends and receive Mother Lakshmi’s blessings.
Special Puja seva/sponsorship: $21 per family
Sri Laksmi Astottara-satanama seva and arcanas will be performed all day on request.

4. Dipavali Food Drive by CHYKs
During the auspicious festival of Diwali, let us make the offering to Bhagawan through our Food Drive for the needy and contribute to the Houston Food Bank, which feeds more than half a million needy people each year. Let us all open our hearts and pantries to donate as many pounds of foods as we can! Our CHYK and youth members will be collecting all food items in the dining area after both sessions in the entire month of October (9, 16, 23 & 30).

5. CHYK Camp at CMH- MLK Weekend Jan. 13 – 16, 2017
Face everything and Rise Retreat: Will you conquer fear, or will fear conquer you?
The Houston CHYKs would like to invite you all to join us for a fear-fighting weekend guided by Acharya Vivekji from Niagara Falls at the Face Everything and Rise Retreat over MLK weekend Jan 13-16, 2017. The camp will focus on overcoming fear and coping with the stress it causes.
It is open to CHYKs 11th grade and up, and will take place in the CM Houston center and at a nearby hotel. Registration is now open, at https://www.chykwest.com/houstoncamp2017/. Early Bird Registration lasts until October 31st for $160 (this includes all materials, meals and accommodations for the camp) and please RSVP to our Facebook Event to stay updated.
