Bala Vihar Opening Day Sunday, Sep. 7
Join us this Sunday, September 7, for a joyous celebration as we commence the new Bala Vihar year and Adult Satsanga!
The 2025-2026 will be a very special year for us as we will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Chinmaya Mission. We will begin the auspicious year by invoking Pujya Gurudeva Swami Chinmayananda ji’s grace and blessings through a special ceremony where children will chant 108 names of Gurudeva. Our dedicated teachers and sevaks have worked tirelessly to prepare for this momentous day.
The timings will be as below for the opening day:
8:30 AM – 10:15 AM Satsanga I for adults, Bala Vihar grades PreK-12
11:15 AM – 1:00 PM Satsanga II for adults, Bala Vihar grades PreK-10
To ensure a smooth experience, please arrive early, as we anticipate some traffic congestion.

- All children from Pre-K to Grade 12 should come to Sarasvati Nilayam and must be seated by 8:30 AM for the first session, and 11:15 AM for the second session.
- Please note that the main gate to Chinmaya Prabha will close at 8:45 AM & 11:30 AM.
- We encourage all adults and children to wear festive Indian clothes to herald the spirit of the Bala Vihar New Year.
- Please make sure that children do not carry any bags or books with them on the opening day.
- Parents of Pre-K children are requested to sit in the reserved area in Smrti.
- After the Bala Vihar classes, children in Grades Pre K – 3 must be picked up from their respective classrooms by their parents.
- Dismissal instructions will be given at the end of the satsanga for the opening day.
- Please note that the library will be closed, tea will not be served between sessions and lunch will not be served on the opening day. We will resume all on Sunday, Sep. 14.
- Language classes, Bhajan, Orchestra, Slokathon and Adult Chanting will start from Sunday, Sep. 14.
Bala Vihar Open House Sunday, Oct. 5
Mark your calendars for Bala Vihar Open House on Sunday, October 5. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
Open House is a perfect opportunity for all parents to:
- Meet with their child’s teachers
- Get to know the current year curriculum for their grade
- Get to know other children and their families
- Get involved with Bala Vihar activities as a room parent
CMH Navaratri Garba Celebration Friday, Oct. 3
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Navaratri celebration on Friday, October 3! This cherished annual event brings together our Chinmaya Mission Houston family for an evening filled with joy, devotion, and vibrant festivities.
Join us as we celebrate Maa Ambe with energetic dancing to live DJ music, all in the spirit of Navaratri. The evening will also feature delicious food which is included in the ticket price. This event is open for all CMH members and their invited guests only.

A stand-alone email will be sent soon to all members with a link to the website where they can find all the details and purchase tickets. Ticket sale is online only, and starts on Sunday, September 7. CMH members will have to purchase the tickets for their invited guests using the same link.
