2. Mahasivaratri Celebration for Bala Vihar & Adults Mar 06, 2016
This year there will be a special celebration of Mahasivaratri at CMH, for both Bala Vihar and adult class in a unique way. The Rudrabhisekam puja will be performed with a focus on Bala Vihar children with explanation, fun activity and Abhisekam in both the sessions on Sunday March 6, 2016. This one is a “NOT TO MISS” celebration for one and all. Plan to be there for this celebration to experience the glory of Lord Siva at Chinmaya Smriti
3. Mahasivaratri Celebrations – Mar 07 & 13, 2016

Mahasivaratri is one of the most auspicious festivals celebrated at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya. Festivities are planned for Monday, Mar 07 and Sunday, Mar 13, 2016 as below. All celebrations are open to public. Please plan to participate with your family and friends on this auspicious occasion and receive Lord Siva’s blessings.

4. Gita Chanting Competition for CMH – Satrurday, May 07, 2016
This year’s Gita Chanting Competition will be held on May 07, 2016 on the occassion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday.
Bhagavad Gita Chapter 13 has been selected for this year.

5. Smrti and Bala Mandira doors to be locked at the start of each session
As announced before, we have started to lock the Smrti and Balamandira doors after the classes start in each session. A big ‘Thank you’ to all members for understanding and complying with this policy, and we encourage all to keep up the practice.
6. Online sign-up for Gurudeva’s Paduka Puja
As you all know on the special occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birth centenary (2015-2016), to express our endless gratitude to the great Master, the families of Chinmaya Mission Houston are performing the Guru Paduka Puja every Sunday before the Adult Satsanga in both sessions.
It is a memorable opportunity for all members to offer their devoted regards for Pujya Gurudeva and for his spiritual mission. Please sign up to perform the Paduka Puja in this auspicious centenary year.

Chinmaya Mission Houston has been accepted into the matching gift programs at Chevron, JP Morgan Chase, Shell, Microsoft, Citgo, Apple and Phillips 66 (recent addition).
These employers match employee contributions made to a company approved non-profit organization. If you are an employee of one of these companies, please avail of this facility by contacting the appropriate department within your organization. Some employers like Chevron even match employee volunteer hours by making a financial contribution that they compute based on the number of volunteer hours an employee has put in.
