1. CMH Summer Schedule  –  Aug. 04 to Aug. 25, 2013

During this time we have only one session of classes. The timing for Sunday satsangas is:

10:50 AM – 12:30 PM

Adult Satsanga, CHYK class and Bala Vihar classes for grades PreK through 11

Bhajana, Slokathon, Orchestra and Language classes will not be conducted during the Summer Session.

Lunch program will continue as usual, after the satsanga at 12:30 PM

2. Bala Vihar Registration for New Members

Our New Year for Bala Vihar starts from September 8, 2013. Bala Vihar rosters are getting full. We may freeze enrollment into Bala Vihar in September, based on class strength.

The good news, however, is that CURRENTLY WE HAVE ENROLLMENT OPEN IN ALL GRADES IN BOTH SESSIONS. If you are aware of any of your friends/relatives who might like their children enrolled in Bala Vihar, please encourage them to register in the month of August, to avoid future disappointment.

3. Upakarma – Thread Changing Ceremony at Sivalaya – Tue Aug 20, 2013

Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya will conduct Upakarma (thread changing ceremony) on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Upakarma is an annual ritual during which individuals who have gone through the Upanayanam ritual and wear the sacred thread, get a new sacred thread and renew their commitment to the study of the Vedas.

Devotees will be provided all the materials required to perform the puja including sacred thread. Interested individuals should register at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya or send an email to skethire@hotmail.com. Puja Time: 7:30 – 9:00 AM (please be seated inside Sivalaya by 7:15 AM)

Contribution: $21/Individual, $31/Family and Daksina to the priest

4. Sri Krsna Janmastami – Wednesday August 28, 2013

Sri Krsna Janmastami will be celebrated at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya on Wednesday, August 28. Sri Krsna Astami puja will be performed at 7:30 PM Please come with family and friends to receive the blessings of Lord Krsna on this auspicious day.

Puja Sponsorship: $ 21/-

5. Ayurvedic Consultation at CMH

Vaidya Sunita Tarkunde conducts Ayurvedic Consultations for members of Chinmaya Mission Houston on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Tapovan room (the basement of our mandir). Each individual gets approximately 15 minutes for wellness consultations.

For appointments please sign up online (Password: gurudev)

There is no fee for these consultations, but donations are welcome. Checks should be made payable to “CMH.”

Temple timing:

			5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
		Saturday and Sunday	8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
