Bala Vihar New Year Start Date  –  Sunday, September 13, 2009

Our Bala Vihar New Year will start from Sunday, September 13, 2009.  Parents of some younger kids are taking their kids to next higher grades instead of continuing with the same class as before.  Please continue to take your kids to the same class as before until September 13, 2009 when they will all move up a grade.

Chinmaya Vibhooti Project

Most of you must have heard or read about Sri Gaurangbhai’s request to support Chinmaya Vibhooti – a project undertaken by Pujya Guruji in Kolwan, near Pune in Maharastra, to commemorate the Life and Vision of Pujya Gurudeva Swami Chinmayanandaji.
 
If you have been meaning to contribute towards this noble cause, but have not been able to do so for one reason or another, you can still do so. Please bring your check with a note “For Vibhooti” on the bottom left of your check. Make the check out to CMH. You may hand over the check to the contribution desk or to Sri Gaurangbhai personally.

Reading by Sri Mahendrabhai Meghani   –  9:30 AM, Sunday August 9, 2009 

Sri Mahendrabhai Meghani, a pure Karmayogi and Gandhian, will be reading from book “The Gandhi Story- Through his own words” at Chinmaya Prabha on Sunday, August 9, at 9:30 AM in the Smrti Hall. The reading is in English and particularly geared for our Youth and Alumni. This is a rare opportunity to meet a person who has been in the independence movement, who understands Gandhiji’ s ideology as well as any one, and is working relentlessly to promote it around the globe, even at age of 86. For those who studied in Gujarat, he is also the eldest son of renowned writer and poet Late Sri Zaverchand Meghani.
 
He will read for about 20 minutes or half an hour and then we will have Q/A session. We highly encourage every youth and alumni to attend this event and any interested parents are also welcome to join in. The event will end no later than 10:40 AM as he has to go to another organization at that time.
 

Sri Krsna Janmastami   – Thursday Aug 13, 2009

Here is also an opportunity to express your love for Sri Krsna by volunteering some time as below:

             Sunday, Aug 9 after Class   –  3 to 4 volunteers to package dry fruit Prasad (1 to 2 hours)              
             Thursday, Aug 13 6:00 PM  –  6 to 8 volunteers to help place and light lamps in the Temple Courtyard
