2. “SIVOHAM” – A Dance Drama – Sunday February 19, 2012

Dr. Ratna Kumar and her students are giving their time and talent, to help us raise funds for our beloved Pujya Swami Chinmayananda’s Centennial Celebration in India.

We all have been very fortunate to have Vedanta studies at our door step. The credit goes to Swamiji who trained so many Acaryas, who in turn are passing the torch of the sacred knowledge of the scriptures to us commoners. We will always remain indebted to him for this priceless treasure.

We are privileged to have an opportunity to express our gratitude to him by making a contribution towards this grand celebration in his honor.

Sivoham is a dance drama on Lord Siva’s glorious attributions and different facets. It is conceived and presented by Dr. Ratna Kumar and Anjali Center for Performing Arts on the occasion of Mahasivaratri. Program Details are as below:

       Time: 7:00 PM– 9:00 PM

     Venue: Stafford Civic Center, 1415 Constitution Ave, Stafford, TX 77477

    Tickets: $10, $20, VIP and VVIP

Tickets are available in the Dining Area, after both sessions.

3. Mahasivaratri Celebrations – February 19 – 20, 2012

Mark your calendars and plan to participate in all the events planned as part of the Mahasivaratri celebrations this year. The event details are as follows:

Maha Mrtyunjaya Homa in Smrti Hall  – Sunday, February 19, 2012

The Homa will be in two sessions coinciding with the regular Satsanga times.

      Time:    8:35 AM – 10:15 AM Session 1   
                  11:15 AM – 01:00 PM Session 2

    Venue:  CMH Smrti Hall

Maha Mrtyunjaya Homa is conducted for health and well being. The Homa is open to CMH members and non-members. Please plan to participate with your family and also inform your non-CMH friends and family so they can take advantage of this once a year special puja.

Mahasivaratri Puja at Sivalaya – Monday, February 20, 2012

This year Mahasivaratri is on a Monday which is the most auspicious day for Lord Siva. There will be Pujas all day long at Sivalaya including Rudrabhiseka pujas & Ksirabhisekam followed by Meditation and Maha Arati. 4. Lock-In for KG to Grade 4 Bala Vihar –  Friday February 24, 2012

The Student Council is holding its annual Lock-In for Kindergarten to Fourth grade. This is a social evening filled with games and entertainment for our children, and is a much awaited event.

     From: Friday, February 24 7:00 PM

         To: Saturday, Februay 25 8:00 AM

  Tickets: $10/- for children & $ 5/- for volunteers

A lock-in with so many small children needs a lot of supervision. We are therefore requesting interested adults to sign up at the ticket desk.

5. Gita Chanting Competition – Saturday, May 5, 2012

Gita chanting competition for Bala Vihar children will be held on May 5, on the occasion of Gurudeva Chinmayanadaji’s birthday.  Bhagavad Gita Chapter 10 has been selected for this year’s competition.

The competition will be held in 4 groups:

Group 1 :  Grades KG – 2           Group 2 :  Grades 3 – 5
Group 3 :  Grades  6 – 8            Group 4 :  Grades 9 – 12

To register fill out the registration form (one per participant) and bring to the Gita chanting competition registration desk by March 18, 2012 along with registration fee – $5 for each participant.

8. Tapovan Prasad Magazine Subscription

Tapovan Prasad has just entered its 50th year of publication. This publication is a flagship monthly of Chinmaya Mission.
