Gita Chanting classes for children will be held in the classroom for Grade 5 in Sarasvati Nilayam

Plan to be in Smrti Hall by 9:00 AM in first session and 11:30 AM in second session. Bala Vihar children and Adults who are not seated in Smrti Hall or Sarasvati Nilayam by the time Arati starts, will not be able to attend classes. They can sit in the dining area and write Likhita Japa.

3. Holi Celebration Saturday, March 19, 2011

We will be celebrating this colourful and fun filled festival on Saturday March 19 starting at 11:00AM in the back parking lot. Join us for Holi Masti with Holi fire, color, music dance and food. Please make sure to purchase your tickets this Sunday, we will have very limited tickets at the door, on the day of the event.

Ticket prices:   $3 per person for entry, includes Fire, Color, Drinks and Music

Ticket Sale:      Starts Sunday Feb 27 near the book store

Food:                Sumptuous food sold by multiple vendors during the festivities

4. Bala Vihar class picnics April 2011

Bala Vihar class picnics for all grades are planned during month of April. These picnics are planned and organized by room parents for each grade.

We encourage all parents and children to participate in the class picnics. This is a great opportunity for our children to have a fun time with their classmates as well as their teachers.

You must have received communication from room parents for the picnics. We request all the parents to RSVP as well as help the room parents.

5. Gita Chanting Competition Saturday, May 7, 2011

Gita chanting competition for Bala Vihar children will be held on the occasion of Gurudeva Chinmayanadaji’s birthday celebration. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 9 is selected for this year’s competition.

The competition will be held in 4 groups:

Group 1 :  Grades KG – 2           Group 2 :  Grades 3 – 5
Group 3 :  Grades  6 – 8            Group 4 :  Grades 9 – 12

To register fill out the registration form (one per participant) and bring to the Gita chanting competition registration desk by April 3, 2011 along with registration fee – $ 5 for each participant.

6. Book Store – Book for March/April

“Journey called Life” a Mananam publication has been chosen as the second book in the series. Mananam is a publication by Chinmaya Mission West which helps devotees and students of Vedanta with a very fine collection of articles by various masters. The book will be available in the book store.
