2.  Lost and Found

We have lost and found items, such as watches, Prarthana Piyusa, Shawls, jacket, etc.
If you have lost something, talk to volunteers at the welcome desk.

3.  Lock-In Grades KG – 4th – Good Friday, April 2, 2010

CMH Youth Group is organizing lock-in for grades KG – 4.  This is one of the most fun filled event that children look for year after year. We highly recommend for you to register early to avoid disappointment. We will limit participation to first 100 children.

We must have 10 parent volunteers signed up by March 21st for this event to go on. Interested parents to offer their seva for this event should see Sri Anshuman Desai between sessions (10:30 to 11:20 AM) at the registration desk next to the book store. Should parents that registered as volunteers do not show up on the day of event the event will be cancelled and the participation fee is non-refundable. There will be parent volunteers meeting at 6:15 PM on Friday, April 2nd,  just before the check-in begins.

   Check in time  6:30 PM Friday April 2, 2010
   Participation fee  $12 per child (first 100) We accept cash or check.
 Non Refundable should the event be cancelled for any reason.
   Youth Volunteers  $7 per youth (first 30)
   Parent Volunteers  $20 deposit- will be refunded when you come to the event.
   Registration

 Pre-registration is required for participating in this event.
 
There will be a special desk setup in dining hall near Sarasvati Nilayam.

   Registration times  
 Sundays- March 21 and March 28.
 10:35 – 11:15 AM  and  1:05 – 1:45 PM


There will be no onsite registration and no phone in registration. Registration desk will close once we have 100 children signed up. It is quite possible that the event will be sold out on Sunday, March 21st.

Registration form is available on CMH website. Parents should fill it out before coming to the registration desk. Parent volunteers should also fill out the bottom section of the form and give $ 20 refundable deposit.

Flier provides details about the event and items children should bring. Please mark items (back-pack and Sleeping bags) with Child’s name and grade in large bold fonts.”

4.  Gita Chanting Competition

Gita chanting competition will be held on May 8 on occassion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 8 is selected for this year’s competition.

The competition will be held in 4 groups:
Group 1 :  Grades KG – 2            Group 2 :  Grades 3 – 5
Group 3 :  Grades 6 – 8              Group 4 :  Grades 9 – 12

To register fill out the registration form (one per participant) and bring to the Gita chanting competition registration desk by April 4, 2010 along with registration fee – $ 5 for each participant.

Note: Registration desk will be located next to book store and will be open from 10:30 AM – 11:20 AM

The Gita chanting classes will be held every Sunday at Chinmaya Prabha from March 7 to May 2 as follows:
    Session  I:  8:00 – 8:45 AM   

    Session II:  1:30 – 2:15 PM

5.  If you have not picked up your poster boards…

We still have about 100 posters which have not been claimed. It could be because you could not find it or you were out. If you have not picked up your poster and would like to have it back, send an email to info@chinmayahouston.org with the following details: Name, Last name and Phone number. In the subject line, please put: “poster pick up request”.
We’ll collect all the request till March 27, 2010. We will announce the pick-up date and place in coming weeks.

6.  Acarya Sri Gaurangbhai’s Jnana Yajna at San Diego  Fri-Sun, April 2-4, 2010

Acarya Sri Gaurangbhai will be conducting a Jnana Yajna at San Diego in April. He will give 5 discourses on Karma Yoga – Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3.  If you have friends and/or relatives in that area, you can inform them about this Jnana Yajna. For more information please click here.

7.  Ramanavami at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya  – Wed, March 24, 2010

We will have special celebrations and Puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya on March 24, 2010.
The program will be as follows:

      11:00 AM         Sri Ramaraksa Stotra Puja
      12:00 Noon      Arati/Prasada
      07:30 PM         Sri Ramaraksa Stotra Puja followed by Arati/Prasada

Temple will be open between 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:30PM

Sri Rama Astottara-sata-nama Archana will be performed on request.

If you wish to sponsor any of these pujas the rates are 21 dollars for Sri Ramaraksa Stotra Puja, and 11 dollars for Sri Rama Astottara-sata-nama Archana

Please register for the puja ahead of time to help the volunteers plant the event. The forms are available at the Temple desk or at the Contribution desk in the mission. Members are encouraged to register before Sunday March 21st.

Plan to be seated in the class before starting time for each session – i.e. 8:50 AM for session I and 11:20 AM for session II.
