1. Annual Dipavali Puja –  Sunday Nov. 03, 2013

Reminder – Day light Savings ends on Sunday, Nov. 03 and we will set our clocks back by 1 hour.

All members are invited to our Annual Dipavali Puja which includes Ganesa Puja, Sri Laksmi Puja and Sri Visnusahasranama Puja. As per CMH tradition the Puja will be held in two sessions, on Sunday Nov. 03.

       Session I       8:30 AM

       Session II    10:30 AM

Let us all come dressed in our festive best, and allow ourselves enough time to walk, park and be seated 10 minutes before time.

Please remember to bring the following items for Puja:

  • Coin/Lamp/Account Book in a decorated plate for Laksmi Puja  
  • Lamp in a decorated plate for Visnusahasranama Puja
  • Yellow Rice and Flowers
  • A third plate with a lamp for Arati
  • Prarthana Piyusa
  • Match Box, Plastic bags, Paper Napkins
  • Gurudaksina Envelope

Gurudaksina pledge confirmations are being emailed to families who have offered their Gurudaksina pledges this week or earlier. You can place the confirmation in the Gurudaksina envelope you offer this Sunday after the Dipavali Puja.

2. Dipavali Puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya – Sunday Nov. 03, 2013

Dipavali 2013

Sri Astalaksmi Puja will be performed at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya on the auspicious occasion of Dipavali on Sunday, November 03, 2013 at 7:00 PM. All members are invited to participate in the puja with family and friends and receive Mother Lakshmi’s blessings.

Special Puja seva/sponsorship: $21 per family Sri Laksmi Astottara-satanama seva and arcanas will be performed all day on request.

Monday, Nov. 04 is the start of New Year for a lot of Hindus. Our temple will be open at 8:00 AM instead of 9:00 AM with a special Puja to mark the first day of the New Year.

3. CMH Family Night – Saturday Nov. 16, 2013

Ticket sales started from Sunday October 13, and will continue to be sold on Sundays, in the Dining Area after both sessions. Tickets will be sold STRICTLY to the registered members only. Tickets are $10 per person (children under 5 years are free), and will include one entry coupon plus three food stall coupons. Extra food coupons will be available at the venue.

     8:00 PM to   9:30 PM     Food stalls by regional teams

4. Yoga Classes – Saturdays 6:45 AM to 7:50 AM

Yoga classes are conducted at CMH every Saturday from 6:45AM-7:50AM.

5. Ayurvedic Consultation at CMH

Vaidya Sunita Tarkunde conducts Ayurvedic Consultations for members of Chinmaya Mission Houston on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Tapovan room (the basement of our mandir). Each individual gets approximately 15 minutes for wellness consultations.

For appointments please sign up online (Password: gurudev)

There is no fee for these consultations, but donations are welcome. Checks should be made payable to “CMH.”
