CMH Book Store Annual Sale

Our bookstore is having an annual holiday sale till the end of the year. A purchase of 5 children’s books will have a 10% discount. Please avail of this opportunity to get great Dipavali and holiday gifts to your loved ones. 

Dipavali Food Drive by CMH Student Council Oct. 29, Nov. 5 & Nov. 12

CMH Student Council has organized a Dipavali Food Drive for the Houston Food Bank.

High school volunteers will be accepting food items in between the sessions from 10:20 AM to 11:20 AM on November 5th, and November 12th.

Following are the most needed items:

Canned beans

Canned fruits

Canned vegetables

Dry pasta

Dry beans

Rice

 Peanut butter

* Non perishable items only*

Annual Dipavali Puja & Gurudaksina    Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023

All members are warmly invited with families to join the entire CMH family for our most auspicious and joyous Dipavali morning Puja. This Puja includes Ganesa Puja, Sri Laksmi Puja and Sri Visnusahasranama Puja.

Puja will be held in one session in the Smrti Hall starting at 9:30 AM.

Please fulfill your pious duty in offering your Gurudaksina at the conclusion of puja.

2024 Gurudaksina Links Emailed on October 25th

Personalized Gurudaksina links have been emailed on October 25th to all members for you to offer your Gurudaksina during this auspicious time leading up to our Dipavali puja. If you have not received your Gurudaksina email, please write to CMHContributions@chinmayahouston.org or stop by the Contribution Desk on Sunday.

Dipavali Puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya – Sun, Nov. 12, 2023

Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya will perform Sri Astalaksmi Puja on the auspicious occasion of Dipavali on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

We invite you to participate in the Puja with family and friends and receive Mother Laksmi’s blessings.

Bala Vihar Families – RSVP Needed for Jyotirlinga Puja by Nov. 15, 2023

We are excited to have our Bala Vihar children participate in the auspicious occasion of Jyotirlinga Puja on the evening of Friday, November 24th. We need an accurate child headcount for organizing the activities. Please RSVP on behalf of your child(ren) by November 15th! The invitation was sent to all Bala Vihar families on Monday, Oct. 30th. We look forward to sharing this divine experience with you!

Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya: Kumbhabhisekam and Jyotirlinga Yatra – Fri, Nov. 24 to Sun, Nov. 26, 2023

Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya invites you to participate, with friends and family, in the first grand Kumbhabhisekam ceremony since its inauguration. Kumbhabhisekam is performed to re invite and reinvigorate the divine energies of the deities and also spiritually energize the participants and the community around.

In addition to the Kumbhabhisekam, also get the divine experience of visiting all the 12 Jyotirlinga Mandirs right here in Houston. Temple team is preparing to install beautiful replicas of all twelve Mandirs here in our Sivalaya courtyard. At the conclusion of the rituals and Homas we will perform Abhisekam to the Temple Gopuram, which is the Siva Linga on top of our Sivalaya.

8:35 AM – 10:15 AM        Satsanga I for adults & Bala Vihar grades Pre-KG to 12

10:30 AM – 11:15 AM      Language classes, Bhajana/Orchestra/Slokathon and Adult Chanting

11:20 AM – 1:00 PM         Satsanga II for adults & Bala Vihar grades Pre-KG to 10

Please give yourself enough time to park and be seated in Smrti Hall/ Sarasvati Nilayam by 8:35 AM (1st Session attendees) and by 11:20 AM (2nd Session attendees).
