Dipavali Food Drive by CMH Student Council     Oct. 12, 19 & 26

CMH Student Council has organized a Dipavali Food Drive for the Houston Food Bank.

High school volunteers will be accepting food items in between the sessions from 10:20 AM to 11:20 AM on Sundays, October 12th, 19th and 26th. Please bring your items to the food drive table in the dining hall.

The following are the most needed items:

Shelf-Stable Snacks

Crackers

Granola Bars

Trail mix

Dried Fruits

Canned Goods (Low Sodium, pull top preferred):

Canned Soup

Canned beans

Canned fruits

Canned vegetables

Canned Pastas

Dry Beans

Dry Pasta

Annual Dipavali Puja & Gurudakshina  Sunday, Oct. 19

All members are warmly invited with families to join our joyous and auspicious Dipavali Puja on October 19. This sacred celebration will include Ganesa Puja, Sri Lakshmi Puja and Sri Vishnusahasranama Puja, and will conclude with the offering of Gurudakshina.

Puja will be performed in only one session starting at 9:00 AM. Please allow yourselves enough time to walk, park and be seated by 8:45 AM. As always let us all bring the festive spirit by dressing up in festive clothes and a huge Chinmaya smile.

Please note that due to our Annual Dipavali Puja, there will be no Bala Vihar classes and Adult Satsanga on Oct 19.

Gurudakshina related emails were sent, please check your emails.

Please remember to bring the following items for Puja:

  • Coin/Lamp/Account Book for Lakshmi Puja
  • Decorated plate with lamp for Vishnusahasranama Puja
  • Yellow rice and flowers
  • Another plate with lamp for Arati
  • Prarthana Piyush
  • Gurudakshina envelope
  • Match box, plastic bags, paper towels etc.,

Dipavali Puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya Monday, Oct. 20

Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya will perform Sri Ashtalakshmi Puja on the auspicious occasion of Dipavali on Monday, October 20. We invite you to participate in the Puja with family and friends and receive Mother Lakshmi’s blessings.
