1. New Bala Vihar Year –  Sunday September 12, 2010

Our 2010-2011 Bala Vihar year will start on September 12, 2010. We will resume our two session schedule.

Schedule for Sunday September will be:

       Session I      8:50 AM – 10:30 AM       Adult satsanga & Bala Vihar Grades PreK – 12

       Session II     11:20 AM – 1:00 PM       Adult satsanga, CHYK class &

                                                               Bala Vihar Grades PreK – 11

Language, Bhajana, Slokathon, Orchestra and Gita chanting classes will start from Sunday September 19.

Bala Vihar children will perform Sarasvati Puja to start the new year. The puja will be held in Sarasvati Nilayam. All children PreK – 12 and Yuvakendra will be in Sarasvati Nilayam for first half an hour of the class.

Plan to reach mission early and be seated by 8:40 AM for first session and by 11:10 AM for second session.

2. Read-A-Thon-2010

The Chinmaya Mission Bala Vihar Read-A-Thon 2010 campaign is being concluded. There will be a special table set-up in dining area before and after class. Remember to bring your completed forms with the collected cheques/cash to CMH this Sunday and submit them at this desk.

3. Ganesa Caturthi at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya – Saturday Sept 11, 2010

On the occasion of Sri Ganesa Caturthi, we will have special puja at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya. The program will be as follows:

            9:00 am – 10:15 am    Vara Siddivinayaka puja

           10:10 am – 10:30 am    Darshan and Prasad

Sri Ganesa Astottara-sata-nama Arcana will be performed all day long on request. The offerings of $21 for Vara Siddivinayaka puja can be made at the contribution desk or information desk at the temple.

4. Gopi Gitam – a Bala Vihar musical program  – Sunday Sept 26, 2010 and Sunday Oct 3, 2010

Chinmaya Mission Bala Vihar children and Yuvakendra (CHYK) are working on a musical program, a fund raiser for extension of Bala Vihar building.

The program will be at Chinmaya Smrti Hall. There will be two shows, the first one on Sunday September 26 at 5:30 PM and second one on October 3 at 5:30 PM. Mark your calendars and reserve your place by getting tickets early.

5. CMH Photo directory

September dates for photosessions are open for online scheduling.

        Sat, Sep 25 – Noon to 6:40 pm

       Sun, Sep 26 – 10 am to 4:40 pm

We have received free 8×10 photos from Lifetouch for members who didn’t buy any package. Collect your picture from the table in the dining area. Please note that members who bought any paid package should be receiving their photos in mail.
