Please note: Bhajana classes alternate with the Slokathon/Orchestra classes every other Sunday.

2. Sri Rama Navami at Sri Saumyakasi Sivalaya – Tue,  Apr 04, 2017

Sri Rama Navami will be celebrated at Saumyakasi Sivalaya on Tuesday, April 04, 2017. Plan to participate in the special pujas on this occasion, with friends and family and receive Lord Rama’s grace and blessings. The Details are as under:

          12:00 Noon:  Special Arati for Sri Rama Navami

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Sri Rama Raksa Stotra Parayana and Puja followed by Arati/Prasada

Sponsorship: Sri Rama Raksa Stotra Puja – $21 per family

Sri Rama Astottara Arcana – $11 per family Sri Rama Astottara Arcana will be performed on request any time during the temple hours.

Temple Timings: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

3. Lock-In for Bala Vihar 3rd and 4th Graders – Fri,  Apr 14, 2017

The Student Council is holding its annual Lock-In for Bala Vihar children in 3rd and 4th Grades. This is a social evening filled with games and entertainment for our children, and is a much awaited event.

Registration: Please sign-up at the desk in the Dining Area on April 2 and April 9 (In Between the sessions and during lunch)

From: Friday, April 14th 7:00 PM

To: Saturday, April 15th 8:00 AM

Registration: $10 for children & $5 for volunteers

A lock-in with so many children needs a lot of supervision. We are therefore requesting interested adults to sign up at the ticket desk.

4. Gita Chanting Competition for Bala Vihar children May 6, 2017

On the occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday, every year we conduct Gita Chanting Competition. This year’s Gita Chanting Competition will be held on May 06. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 14 has been selected for this year’s competition.

Classes for Balavihara children are being held every Sunday at Chinmaya Prabha from February 5th to April 30th.

5. Slokathon classes for February – April, 2017

Please note that Slokathon classes will not be held during the months of February, March and April. Slokathon children would attend Gita Chanting classes instead.

Classes will resume on first Sunday of May, 2017 

6. Summer Jnana Yajna by Swami Swaroopananda – Aug 11-15, 2017

We are happy to announce that this summer Swami Swaroopananda ji will be conducting the Jyana Yajna at Chinmaya Mission Houston.
