1.  Gita Chanting Competition (GCC) for Bala Vihar children on May 4, 2018

On the occasion of Pujya Gurudeva’s birthday, we conduct Gita Chanting Competition for our Bala Vihar children every year.

This year the competition is on Bhagavad Gita Chapter 17 and will be held on Saturday, May 04.

GCC Classes

To prepare for the Competition, Gita Chanting Classes are being offered for Balavihara children every Sunday at Chinmaya Prabha from February 10th to April 28th. Please bring a printed copy of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 17 to the class.

Class schedule is given below. Children are required to attend classes for their respective session.

2. CMH Summer Schedule     May 20 thru Sept. 07, 2019

Last day of this year’s Bala Vihar and Sunday adult Satsanga classes is May. 19, 2019.  The next academic year will start on Sep. 08, 2019.

During the summer months we have other activities planned including Jnana Yajnas. More details will be provided as we go.

3. Chinmaya Mission Graduation Ceremony            Mon. May 27, 2019

On Mon. May 27, we will have a special program in honor of our graduating class.

Time: 8:45 AM to 11:30 AM
All adults and Bala Vihar children in grades 9 – 12 are welcome to be part of this special program.

4. Bala Vihar Re-Enrollment for 2019-2020

Bala Vihar re-enrollment is underway for the 2019-2020 academic year. Eligible families will be receiving the online re-enrollment link by email. Please fill out the online form and submit it as soon as you can.

Please verify your individual forms, and make necessary edits to ensure that the following information is correct:

• Grade the Bala Vihar child will be attending in September 2019
• Session you would like to attend for the year 2019-2020
• Enter proper selection for extra class option – only one extra class can be selected.
• Please check all the pre-filled information and make changes where required.

Deadline to fill out Bala Vihar re-enrollment form is May 31, 2019.

5. CHYK & JCHYK  Camps this Summer     Jun. 10 thru Jun 16, 2019

Conducted by Acarya Vivek ji from Canada and Brn. Shweta ji from CMH

This June we will be having both our CHYK and J-CHYK camps. Both are wonderful ways for youth and young adults to immerse themselves in Vedantic teachings in a retreat style setting. Leading both camps we will have Acarya Vivek ji from Niagara Falls and our own Brni. Shweta ji. Vivek ji is an excellent teacher and has a unique ability to relate to the youth, as he himself was brought up in Canada. Those who have attended his camps before know how relevant and easy he makes subtle Vedantic teachings.

Junior CHYK Camp – Jun. 10 – Jun. 14, 2019

This is a day camp for incoming high school freshmen through incoming high school seniors.

CHYK Camp – Jun. 14 to Jun. 16, 2019

For Ages 18 to 28 and incoming college freshmen

6. Jnana Yajna by Pujya Gaurang Uncle     Jul. 04 to Jul. 07, 2019

Drg Drsya Viveka

This summer we will have an opportunity to soak in a beautiful text – “Drg Drsya Viveka”.  Even more exciting is the fact that it will be conducted by our very own Pujya Gaurang Uncle.

Time: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a 30 min. break from 10:30 AM to 11:00 M

7. Jnana Yajna at CMH by Swami Ramakrishnananda –   Aug. 18 – 23, 2019

We are happy to announce that this year, Swami Ramakrishnananda ji will be conducting the Jnana Yajna at Chinmaya Mission Houston. Swamiji has a unique and jovial style of communicating with his audience, which makes his discourses very entertaining and enlightening, be it Vedanta, Gita, Bhagavatam, Ramayana or even a course in Easy Sanskrit.

The schedule for the pravacanas will be as below:

To prepare children for the Gita Chanting Competition (GCC), we will have Gita classes instead of Slokathon, from Feb 10 to Apr. 28, 2019.  Slokathon children will attend GCC classes.

Please note Bhajana classes are held every other Sunday.
