Please note Bhajana classes alternate with the Slokathon/Orchestra classes every other Sunday.

3. New Member Orientation –  Sun, Oct 18, 2015

On Sunday October 18 we will be having an orientation for new members or those who have never attended a CMH orientation so far. We encourage all new members to avail this opportunity to learn a little bit more about our facility and its program.

4. Yakshagana – Panchavati at CMH – Sun, Oct 25, 2015

(Hindi Dialogues with English subtitles)

Yakshagana is a rare and unique traditional theatre of Karnataka State.

‘Yaksha Manjusha’, a team of professional artists and singers from India will be presenting ‘Panchavati’,

an episode from Ramayana exclusively for our Bala Vihar kids who learn about Ramayana as well as theatre forms of India.

Venue: Smrti Hall at CMH

Troupe: Yaksha Manjusha (visitng artists from India)

5. Dipavali Food Drive by CHYKs Sundays, Nov. 1 & 8, 2015

During the auspicious festival of Dipavali, we offer “Chappan Bhog” to God. This year let us make that offering to Bhagawan through our Food Drive for the needy and contribute to the Houston Food Bank, which feeds more than half a million needy people each year.

Let us all open our hearts and pantries to donate as many pounds of foods as we can!

Our CHYK volunteers will be collecting all food items in the Dining Area after both sessions on Sundays Nov. 01 & Nov. 08, 2015

6. CMH Annual Dipavali Puja and Gurudaksina – Sun. Nov. 8, 2015

Please mark your calendars for CMH annual Dipavali puja and Gurudaksina which will be celebrated on Sunday Nov. 8 in the morning in the Smrti Hall. More details will be provided in the coming weeks.

7. CMH Student Council seeking new Members

CMH Student Council is seeking new members. We invite CMH Bala Vihar High School students to apply for Student Council membership. We will be selecting up to 20 new members. Following is the selection process:

  1. No cell phone use within Mission campus to avoid accident to pedestrians
  2. Speed limit within campus 8 MPH
  3. Follow parking volunteers’ instruction and park as directed by the volunteers
  4. Please keep the littlest members on your sight while crossing the parking lot
  5. No drop off unless directed by the volunteers
  6. Park head on only, no reverse parking please
  7. We are in need of additional parking volunteers, please sign up at welcome desk

Chinmaya Mission Houston has been accepted into the matching gift programs at Chevron, JP Morgan Chase, Shell, Microsoft, Citgo, Apple and Phillips 66 (recent addition).

These employers match employee contributions made to a company approved non-profit organization. If you are an employee of one of these companies, please avail of this facility by contacting the appropriate department within your organization. Some

employers like Chevron even match employee volunteer hours by making a financial contribution that they compute based on the number of volunteer hours an employee has put in.
