1. Bala Vihar Open House – Sunday, Oct 11, 2015

On Sunday Oct. 11, 2015, during the last half an hour of the Satsanga all parents will go to their children’s classrooms for the Bala Vihar Open House.

Open House is a perfect opportunity for all parents to:

• meet with their children’s teachers
• get to know the curriculum for their children for the current year
• get to know other children and their families in their children’s class
• get involved with Bala Vihar activities as a room parent for your child’s class

3. CMH Navaratri celebration – Friday, Oct. 16, 2015

Date: Friday, October 16 in the evening Place: New Stafford Centre at Cash Road, in Stafford, TX Time: 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM Please note that coming Sunday will be the last day to buy tickets at CMH. We are fast approaching our maximum capacity, so please do not wait until the last minute to avoid disappointment. Buy them online or at CMH by this Sunday. Tickets: Members $ 15/- each Bala Vihar children up to Gr.5 – $ 10/- each Children under 4 yrs. – Free All Guests – $ 20/- each (Guest tickets can be bought by members only) Online Ticketing is open.  Tickets can also be bought, after both sessions, in the Dining Area. On Sun. Oct. 11 we will have a training session for Raas/dandiya in Smrti Hall from 1.30 PM to 2:30 PM. Please plan to stay back to learn some basic steps, so you can enjoy even more on Oct. 16.

4. New Member Orientation –  Sunday, Oct 18, 2015

On Sunday October 18 we will be having an orientation for new members or those who have never attended a CMH orientation so far. We encourage all new members to avail this opportunity to learn a little bit more about our facility and its program.

Time: 10:20 AM

Place: In the class across the library on the second floor.

5. Parking at CMH

1.  No cell phone use within Mission campus to avoid accident to pedestrians
2.  Speed limit within campus 8 MPH
3.  Follow parking volunteers’ instruction and park as directed by the volunteers
4.  Please keep the littlest members on your sight while crossing the parking lot
5.  No drop off unless directed by the volunteers
6.  Park head on only, no reverse parking please
7.  We are in need of additional parking volunteers, please sign up at welcome desk

6. Announcement from Contribution Desk

2015 year-to-date contribution statements have been emailed this week. Please review your contribution records and the pledge details on your statement. If you notice any discrepancies, or if you have not yet received your statement, please write to CMHContributions@chinmayahouston.org, by October 11, 2015.

7. CMH Annual Dipavali Puja and Gurudaksina – Sunday, Nov 8, 2015

Please mark your calendars for CMH annual Dipavali puja and Gurudaksina which will be celebrated on Sunday Nov. 8 in the morning in the Smrti Hall. More details will be provided in the coming weeks. 

8. Yoga Classes for Adults at Chinmaya Smrti – starting Sat. Oct.1, 2015

We will resume our yoga classes for adults from Sat. Oct. 1, 2015

When: Every Saturday starting Oct. 1

Time:   6:45 AM to 7:45 AM

Where: Chinmaya Smrti or under the temple

9. CMH Accepted for Corporate Matching Gift Programs

Chinmaya Mission Houston has been accepted into the matching gift programs at Chevron, JP Morgan Chase, Shell, Microsoft, Citgo, Apple and Phillips 66 (recent addition).

These employers match employee contributions made to a company approved non-profit organization. If you are an employee of one of these companies, please avail of this facility by contacting the appropriate department within your organization. Some

employers like Chevron even match employee volunteer hours by making a financial contribution that they compute based on the number of volunteer hours an employee has put in.

As announced, please note, that CMH has now been registered with the AmazonSmile program. This means that every time a CMH member buys through AmazonSmile,  CMH receives .5% of our member purchases as donation from Amazon. For your convenience this link has now been provided on our CMH website. We encourage all members to save the above link in their “Favorites” and use this link for future purchases. This change does not cost members anything extra, but will most certainly help with CMH finances.
